About • Who is Behind The Budget Gourmet?

Hi there! I’m Anna and I’m excited that you found your way to my little corner of the Internet.

The Budget Gourmet is the place where I share recipes, cooking tips, and other food-related tidbits. I learned to cook from my grandma when I was a kid, and I have been developing the passion ever since. I love cooking delicious, high-quality, and nutritious meals, but I have to be careful about budgeting my money and my time. I am a full-time grad student, a part-time research assistant, a consultant, and I am planning my wedding. As much as I’d love to spend all day in the kitchen, I just can’t do it!

I focus on recipes that are healthy, easy to make, and easy to store. My ideal recipes are complex in flavor, simple in both their ingredient lists and preparation steps, and easily refrigerated or frozen to serve as lunches for the rest of the week. I am a huge fan of one-pot meals, and bringing out the natural flavors in foods with spices and citrus.

Now, I am not strict about what I eat. I don’t follow a vegetarian, vegan, keto, paleo, gluten-free, or anything-free diet (although I don’t cook with mushrooms because unfortunately I just don’t like them, and I’ll admit I may have fabricated an allergy once or twice). That being said, I mostly stick to healthy proteins, fats, and lots of fruits and vegetables. I guess you could call me “Mostly Plant-Based Unless The Plant Is A Mushroom.”

I hope that you enjoy using my recipes, and if you don’t view yourself as a cook, maybe my tips can change your mind! You don’t need to have a fancy kitchen or a culinary arts degree to learn to love the simple pleasures of preparing and enjoying a good meal.

Have fun browsing, and please email me at info@BudgetGourmetRecipes.com if you have any questions, and don’t forget to follow met on social media.

Thanks for stopping by!

Anna
